The unique high-tech ecosystem Brainport Industries is made up of the leading first-, second- and third-tier high-tech suppliers in the Netherlands. The aim is to connect the suppliers within these high-tech supply chains, to jointly further enhance the professionalism of the supply chain and to boost competitiveness.
Shift
International OEMs are increasingly outsourcing development and engineering to strategic suppliers in the high-tech manufacturing industry. They are asking suppliers to take full responsibility for various modules and, consequently, for their development. As a result of this shift, we too are constantly pushing the boundaries in terms of manufacturability and responsibilities. Brainport Industries, through a steady flow of knowledge workers and skilled professionals, enables us to increase our turnover and continue to develop within the market.
It’s not that simple
“As a supplier to companies including ASML, VDL-ETG, Prodrive and Lamers High Tech Systems, it was only natural for us to join this network,” says Peter Hobbelen. “But you don’t just become a member of Brainport Industries. There’s a thorough screening process beforehand, and you have to be nominated by two other members. During visits by Brainport Industries, we gave a detailed demonstration of what we do and what we have to offer. I’m delighted that we’re now part of this platform and that, through collaboration and knowledge-sharing, we can improve the increasingly complex supply chain.”
